Camera M 6.0 Update

Camera M on Your Lock Screen

Ever since Apple announced the customizable Lock Screen with widgets for the iOS 16 update, we couldn't wait to bring Camera M to the Lock Screen.

Soon enough, we realized you can only have a maximum of 4 circular widgets; however, there is the capability of having multiple, interchangeable, Lock Screens for different occasions. We know most of the photographers will most probably have a separate Lock Screen just for photography.

We wanted to make sure these widgets offer important glanceable information, not just mere app launch widgets; therefore, we were able to implement several widgets that covers all the size types for the Lock Screen.

So we spent the whole summer perfecting these widgets we created. Let us take a look below:

Camera Information Widgets

These offer a super convenient way to quickly glance at important preliminary information for each camera available on your device and launch into the perfect camera right from the Lock Screen — akin to grabbing the perfect lens from your camera bag.

The circular type shows the zoom factor and the aperture size, while the rectangular type adds focal length information.

Simply tap on the widget to launch Camera M into the camera of your choice.

Golden Hour Widgets

Camera M is developed by two passionate outdoor photographers. Since version 1.0 in 2017, we have always included a Golden Hour widget to be notified quickly of Golden Hour and an estimate of the current sun position for shadows.

First, it was a Today Widget, then a widget for your Home Screen, and now a couple of widgets for your Lock Screen.

We included a rectangular widget as well as a circular one to suit your style. We went even further to include an in-line style one to display right above the time label. These widgets use your current location to calculate the sun even times and update every few minutes.

Simply tap on the widget to quickly launch Camera M to capture the moment.

iOS 16 Support

Camera M is now fully compatible with iOS 16. We took full advantage of new optimizations, leading to performance improvements, including app launch times.

In addition, we updated the app font for a more stylistic feel. All screens now support Dynamic Type text, including the main adjustment labels for manual controls (more information below).

New App Icon

We have been working on a new app icon and included it with version 6.0. We hope you like it!

Camera M version 6 fully supports Dynamic Type for different text sizes and Bold Text support thorough out all of the UI, including all the widgets. We have also added a Light Mode for Exif Viewer, Camera Roll, and Settings. Furthermore, we included Increase Contrast support for various interface elements, including grid and level.
